Psalm 77 - 10.29.25

Scripture

I will remember the deeds of the Lord; yes, I will remember your miracles of long ago. I will consider all your works and meditate on all your mighty deeds. (Ps 77:11)

Observation

The author of Psalms 77 was going through a lot of stress and anguish of heart. He has cried out all night long (verse 1). He couldn’t sleep and he couldn’t speak because of his worries (verse 4). He wondered if the Lord had rejected him forever, and if he would never find favor again (verse 8).

And then, he remembered the times the Lord had worked in his life (verse 11). He remembered the miracles he had experienced from the hand of God. He focused his thoughts on the mighty deeds of God. He remembered how the Lord split the seas, and opened up rain, and led his people through the red sea under the leadership of Moses and Aaron (verses 16 to 20).

Application

God has not promised us an easy life when we come to Him. However, He has promised us victory over the situations we face, when we walk with Him. As we go through life, we encounter trials, of which some are fiery. But the Lord is with us. Even though we walk through the valley of the shadow of death, we will not fear, as He is with us (Ps 23:4). When we walk through the waters, He is with us. When we pass through the rivers, they will not overflow us. When we walk through the fire, we will not be burnt (Is 43:2).

It is easy for us in our human nature, to feel discouraged when everything seems to fall apart, and when none of our plans are working. We might even wonder if the Lord has forgotten us. When discouragement hits, let us remember how the Lord has led us in the past. Let us remember the miracles he has done for us. Let us hold on in faith, as He is faithful. Let us remember, and not forget his benefits (Ps 103:2). Let us strengthen ourselves in the Lord (1 Sam 30:6)  and build ourselves in faith by remembering the mighty works of the Lord that we have experienced in our life.

Prayer

Dear Father, I thank you for making me your child. You have given me the privilege of tasting you and knowing that you are good (Ps 34:8). You have carried me on eagles’ wings (Ex 19:4). You have answered my prayers. You have wiped my tears. You have lifted me up. Lord, when I walk through the valleys of life, help me to remember that you are with me. Help me to remember your goodness in my life, and to strengthen myself in you. Help me to live my life everyday by fixing my eyes on you, the author and finisher of my faith (Heb 12:2). May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight (Ps 19:14). May my life be a living sacrifice holy and acceptable to you (Rom 12:1). In Jesus’s name. Amen.

Revelation 13 - 10.28.25

SCRIPTURE:  Revelation 13:9,10b “Whoever has ears, let them hear”… “This calls for patient endurance and faithfulness on the part of God’s people”.

OBSERVATION:  John described a vision he had regarding two of Satan’s accomplices: The beast out of the sea and the beast out of the earth.  John wrote down his vision and sent it to seven churches. He described the limited power that the beast will have.  One of the heads of the beast out of the sea seemed to have a fatal wound that was healed, which caused the whole world to be filled with wonder and follow it.  It was given power to wage war against God’s holy people, and to conquer them, and it was given authority over every tribe, language and nation.  All inhabitants of the earth will worship the beast - all whose names are NOT written in the Book of Life.  “Whoever has ears, let them hear.”

The second beast out of the earth exercised all the authority of the first beast on its behalf, and made the earth and its inhabitants worship the first beast, whose fatal wound had been healed.  Because of the signs it was given power to perform on behalf of the first beast, it deceived the inhabitants of the earth. It also forced all people, great and small, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hands or on their foreheads, so they could not buy or sell unless they had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of its name.”

APPLICATION:  “This calls for patient endurance and faithfulness on the part of God’s people.” John warned all Christians about the importance of faithful endurance.  In order to endure the temptations and the struggles we will face, we must be deeply rooted in God’s Word and rely on the power of the Holy Spirit to guide every aspect of our lives.  In one portion of Scripture it says even the elect will be led astray if possible! (Matthew 24:24).  Satan knows his days are numbered.  Ever since he rebelled against God and led Adam and Eve to sin in the Garden of Eden, there has been a great conflict between good and evil that has been impacting all human beings, but God informed Satan that Jesus will eventually strike his head, even though the evil one will be allowed to strike Christ’s heel.  (Genesis 3:15).

PRAYER:  Thank You God for equipping us with everything we need to remain strong in Jesus.  You have given us all the strength we need to endure hardships, troubles, trials, and even persecution!
Your Word warns us that Christians will be persecuted for our faith, but, I pray You will help us to remember that it’s worth following Jesus all the way because our final rewarded eternal destination has been promised by You, and what You promise, You will be faithful to fulfill it!

Psalm 75 - 10.27.25

Scripture

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭75‬:‭2‬-‭3‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“You say, “I choose the appointed time; it is I who judge with equity. When the earth and all its people quake, it is I who hold its pillars firm.”

Observation

In this psalm written by Asaph, he writes of God’s role as a righteous judge, Who is sovereign, and Who exalts the humble and brings down the proud. The psalm is a reminder that despite all the chaos and turmoil in the world, God will bring about His perfect judgment when the time is right.

Application

How will God judge you on Judgement Day?

The Bible describes two future judgments: the Judgment Seat of Christ, and the Great White Throne Judgment. The Judgment Seat of Christ is for believers. They will be judged for their works/ministry that they did to build God’s Kingdom and they will receive rewards for their works/ministry and their endurance in their faith. While the other judgment is known as the Great White Throne Judgment. This judgment is for unbelievers. They will be judged for their evil deeds, their rejection of God, and receive their final punishment.

At the end of the day it’s all about what we decided to do with the name of Jesus. Did we decide to put our faith in Him, follow Him and His ways, and repent from our sins? If so, then you will be clothed in Jesus’ righteousness, and be found not guilty of your sins, and will be judged by God at the Judgement Seat of Christ where we will be rewarded for our faith.

But if you chose to reject God, by rejecting His Son Jesus, you will be judged by your evil deeds at the Great White Throne Judgment. Even if you think you may have lived a morally “good” life, we must remember what the Bible tells us:

“We are all infected and impure with sin. When we display our righteous deeds, they are nothing but filthy rags. Like autumn leaves, we wither and fall, and our sins sweep us away like the wind.”-Isaiah‬ ‭64‬:‭6‬ ‭

What can I do then to avoid the Great White Throne Judgment?

“For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. Yet God, in his grace, freely makes us right in his sight. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins. For God presented Jesus as the sacrifice for sin. People are made right with God when they believe that Jesus sacrificed his life, shedding his blood. This sacrifice shows that God was being fair when he held back and did not punish those who sinned in times past, for he was looking ahead and including them in what he would do in this present time. God did this to demonstrate his righteousness, for he himself is fair and just, and he makes sinners right in his sight when they believe in Jesus.”-Romans‬ ‭3‬:‭23‬-‭26‬ ‭

Prayer

Thank You Jesus for coming to this earth and willingly sacrificing Your life on that cross to pay the debt of all my sins. I know I deserve Your judgment and wrath, but because of Your grace and mercy, You instilled within me that faith to believe in You, and have given me Your free gift of salvation. I pray that I can share with others this free gift by telling them Your story. May Your free gift of salvation be a gift that keeps on giving all year round. In Jesus name I pray, Amen. 🙏🏽
