Hebews 7 - 5.12.26
SCRIPTURE: Hebrews 7:18-19 “The former regulation is set aside because it was weak and useless (for the law made nothing perfect), and a better hope is introduced, by which we draw near to God).”
OBSERVATION: The writer of this Scripture teaches us how the law was never intended to save people. “No one will be declared righteous in God’s sight by the works of the law, rather, through the law we become conscience of our sin.” (Romans 3:20). No one has ever been able to uphold the whole law of God EXCEPT JESUS, Who is the Only One Who ever kept God’s law PERFECTLY! Even if we only broke just one law of God, it would still earn us the title of being a SINNER! And since sin in the very thing that separates us from God, it would appear that we’re all doomed to hell because according to God, the wages of sin is D-E-A-T-H! That means we are ALL separated from God since we are ALL sinners!
BUT GOD! - He LOVED US SO MUCH that He sent His Son Jesus to take the punishment that we ALL deserved for our past, present and future sins! Who would do that; ONLY JESUS!
APPLICATION: Jesus ransomed us from the power of sin and death! He went to hell so that we wouldn’t have to! Jesus paid the price with His very life so that we could be forgiven! God’s mercy and grace is the very reason we die to ourselves and live for Him!
PRAYER: Thank You Jesus for saving my life! Thank You for making a way for me to be united with God today and forever! Thank You for the new life that I have been given through Your death and resurrection. Thank You that whenever I call out to You, You are here to help me put off my old self and put on my new self, for I was created to be like You in true righteousness and holiness, which I am ONLY able to do as I pray and depend on the power of the Holy Spirit to be able to faithfully follow You and Your ways.

Hebrews 6 - 5.11.26
S - Scripture: Hebrews 6:4 - “For it is impossible to renew to repentance those who were once enlightened, who tasted the heavenly gift, who shared in the Holy Spirit.”
O - Observation: I'm sure that this scripture is based on yesterday's sermon. A lot of us spend time searching for the perfect church instead of looking for the needs within our church family. We, self included, go through the motions and steer away from the church family's needs. Our Lord knows we should repent and renew our hearts towards His kingdom. And His promise is true, we are saved as long as He is in our hearts.
A - Application: All of us need to search for any opportunities to be a part of His kingdom. There should be no other needs that are not met. I will consciously seek His word and the opportunities the Lord calls me to!
P - Prayer: Lord, I pray for new seasons in your presence. I pray that you continue to call me to be a steward of the gifts that you have blessed me with. Amen

Hebrews 3 - 5.8.26
SCRIPTURE: Hebrews 3:12-13
“See to it, brothers and sisters, that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God. But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called “Today,” so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness.”
OBSERVATION
The Israelites, while in Egypt and going through wilderness, had seen all the miracles of God performed, yet they kept turning away from God. What is our wilderness? What has deceived us? What has us turning away from God? We are not meant to do this walk alone. We are to love and encourage people. Not just on Sunday but every day.
APPLICATION
We all go through struggles and need to recalibrate our compass. Our closest brothers and sisters in the Lord can see when we are off. The more we meet the more we get to know each other’s strength and weaknesses. That is why in Hebrews 10:25 is says “not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” Also in Proverbs 27:17 “As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.”
We need to encourage people to join a church family and do this walk with Jesus together. Joining one of our small groups is one way to help encourage each other often. We study and pray together. We are sharpening each other. Our group text is how we encourage and pray for each other throughout the week. If you are not part of a small group, the church website is where anyone can submit a prayer request. We have prayer tables after Sunday services. We have amazing Pastors who can counsel and pray with you.
PRAYER
Dear Jesus, you are full of mercy and grace. Draw us closer to you. Jesus you are the one that forgives us our sins. Thank you for our church family that will point us to you, Jesus, in our times of trials and troubles. Help us to love and encourage each other. Jesus, may we Glorify you name forever. In Jesus name Amen
