Proverbs 20 - 7.31.25

SCRIPTURE: Proverbs 20:7

The righteous man walks in his integrity; His children are blessed after him.

OBSERVATION

King Solomon was the author of Proverbs in the Bible. Solomon was Israel’s wisest king.

The righteous man walks in his integrity: For a righteous man or woman, their upright living and integrity will be actually lived out. They will walk in their integrity.

His children are blessed after him: The greatest gift a parent can give to a child is for that parent to be a righteous, upright person who walks in his/her integrity. That one will create a home and atmosphere that will be a blessing to the child. “It answers the temptation to ‘get on’ at all costs ‘for the children’s sake’.” (Kidner)

But what is Righteousness?

To accept Christ as the Messiah is the first step. Righteousness is an attribute that belongs to God, the Lawgiver, and is manifested in His laws written in the bible. No man can be justified by his own works apart from God’s ordinance. Therefore, righteousness is a wonderful gift from God to humanity through His love: it is the God-given quality imputed to man upon believing in the Son of God.

What is Biblical Integrity?

It means to be honest and upright and to have moral principles and values that guide one’s conduct. The word “integrity” comes from the Latin root integritas, which means wholeness or

completeness. In the Bible, integrity emphasizes:

  • closely tied to righteousness and holiness.

  • the importance of doing what is right, even when it is difficult or unpopular.

  • being truthful, reliable, and consistent in one’s words and actions.

  • a commitment to justice and fairness.

APPLICATION

Righteousness should be the first goal in our life. AND to live it day to day with integrity so our children WILL be blessed and have role models for both. The Bible teaches us that those who have integrity and live a righteous life will be blessed by God and will ultimately succeed in life. AND our children will be blessed and they, also, will walk in righteous integrity. THIS IS Our Ultimate goal! And they will set the same standards and goals for future generations.

PRAYER

Lord Jesus, I come to you on bended knees with thankfulness that you chose me and brought me out of the darkness I was walking in, to walk with You. Lord Jesus, thank you for all my precious children – AND ABOVE ALL, BLESS MY CHILDREN, GRAND AND GREAT ones to walk with righteous integrity to know your unfailing Grace; and to gain your wisdom –All for Your glory and honor. AMEN!
