1 Timothy 4 - 4.9.26
SCRIPTURE
I Timothy 4: 8 - 10: “For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come. This is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance. That is why we labor and strive, because we have put our hope in the living God, who is the Savior of all people, and especially of those who believe.
OBSERVATION
Godliness IS:
-- profitable for all things, having promise of the life that now is: Paul explains the value of godliness, both in the present sense and its eternal sense. Godliness makes the life that now is better, and we should not hesitate to believe it and to tell people this. Only godliness is the path to eternal life and happiness.
-- the only guarantee of a profitable life which is to come. There are many pleasures or achievements in this world that do not even pretend to offer anything for the life which is to come.
-- the path to eternal life and happiness.
-- living in a way that reflects God's character and values, demonstrating holiness and righteousness.
Our Hope is in the living God.
Jesus’ work is adequate to save all, but only effective in saving those who come to Him by faith.
APPLICATION
The foundation of our love and faith in Jesus is rooted in His biblical teachings, emphasizing obedience to God's Word and commandments.
TO live a life of godliness requires discipline on our part. And we are to:
-- Practice a deeper relationship with God, such as prayer, fasting, and meditation.
-- Live in a way that reflects God's character and values, demonstrating holiness and righteousness.
ALL for the purpose of spiritual growth, maturity, and becoming more Christ-like in thoughts and actions.
PRAYER
Lord Jesus, on bended knee I come before You to ALWAYS remember all you did for us to have eternal life with You. My Faith and my Hope is in you Lord Jesus Christ, our living GOD. I come to you to give me your strength to live a life that reflects who you are and give me your words to draw others to know you. YOU ARE MY HOPE! YOU ARE THE HOPE OF ALL NATIONS. AMEN!
Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.
Isaiah 40:31 But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.
